There is no "genre." Whether it's used as a pejorative or a superlative, it is still an imaginary distinction. "Genre" is a phantasm; it is a marketing stratagem designed to render fiction safely segregated. It is an imaginary box that we choose (or do not) to place ourselves in. There is no ghetto. The ghetto is, like everything else contained within it, a fiction. There is no "genre."
